O frio ganhou ainda mais intensidade com a chegada do <strong>inverno astron\u00f4mico<\/strong>, que teve in\u00edcio com o <strong>solst\u00edcio<\/strong>. Cidades como <strong>Urupema<\/strong>, nos altos da <strong>Serra Catarinense<\/strong>, registraram na <strong>ter\u00e7a-feira, 24 de junho<\/strong>, <strong>sensa\u00e7\u00e3o t\u00e9rmica de -29\u202f\u00b0C<\/strong>, um marco rar\u00edssimo mesmo para os padr\u00f5es do clima subtropical da regi\u00e3o.<\/p>\n<p><strong>O climatologista Ricardo Fel\u00edcio<\/strong>, especialista em din\u00e2mica atmosf\u00e9rica, explica que essa massa de ar extremamente fria <strong>tem origem na Ant\u00e1rtida<\/strong>, que nesta \u00e9poca do ano enfrenta <strong>dias muito curtos<\/strong> e longos per\u00edodos de escurid\u00e3o. Segundo ele, \u201c<strong>quanto mais fria estiver a Ant\u00e1rtida, maior a probabilidade de o frio ser mais severo<\/strong> no territ\u00f3rio brasileiro\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>As massas de ar polar<\/strong>, originadas nas geleiras ant\u00e1rticas, migram em dire\u00e7\u00e3o ao continente sul-americano, atingindo o <strong>Brasil<\/strong> com <strong>tempo seco e temperaturas muito baixas<\/strong>. Esse deslocamento \u00e9 favorecido pela circula\u00e7\u00e3o atmosf\u00e9rica caracter\u00edstica do inverno, que direciona os ventos <strong>friamente do sul para o norte<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cidades serranas cobertas por neve e geada<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>O encontro entre a <strong>umidade vinda do Oceano Atl\u00e2ntico<\/strong>, que se mistura com a umidade da <strong>regi\u00e3o amaz\u00f4nica<\/strong>, e o <strong>ar frio j\u00e1 instalado nas serras catarinenses e ga\u00fachas<\/strong>, provoca fen\u00f4menos pouco comuns em grande parte do pa\u00eds. <strong>Bom Jardim da Serra<\/strong> e <strong>S\u00e3o Joaquim<\/strong>, tamb\u00e9m em <strong>Santa Catarina<\/strong>, foram cobertas por <strong>neve e gelo nas estradas e montanhas<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>O especialista destaca que esse fen\u00f4meno \u00e9 intensificado pela <strong>altitude das serras<\/strong>, que ultrapassam os <strong>mil metros<\/strong>. A presen\u00e7a da umidade, combinada com <strong>temperaturas negativas na primeira camada da atmosfera<\/strong>, favorece a forma\u00e7\u00e3o de <strong>chuva congelada e neve<\/strong>. Quando a <strong>temperatura ao n\u00edvel do solo<\/strong> fica abaixo de <strong>0\u202f\u00b0C<\/strong>, o vapor de \u00e1gua pode se transformar diretamente em <strong>flocos de neve<\/strong>, sobretudo quando h\u00e1 <strong>nebulosidade abundante<\/strong> e uma atmosfera inst\u00e1vel.<\/p>\n<p>Em cidades do interior catarinense, o frio intenso altera o cotidiano: os moradores recorrem ao <strong>fog\u00e3o a lenha<\/strong>, que serve tanto para aquecer os alimentos quanto para manter as casas protegidas do clima severo.
