En comparaci\u00f3n con <strong>mayo de 2024<\/strong>, la situaci\u00f3n es cr\u00edtica, con <strong>precipitaciones muy por debajo<\/strong> de lo habitual tanto en la <strong>cuenca del r\u00edo San Juan<\/strong> como en la del <strong>r\u00edo J\u00e1chal<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>El <strong>Mg. Silvio Pastore<\/strong>, director del <strong>Gabinete de Estudios de Geocriolog\u00eda, Glaciolog\u00eda, Nivolog\u00eda y Cambio Clim\u00e1tico de la UNSJ<\/strong>, subray\u00f3 que estamos ante un a\u00f1o con <strong>d\u00e9ficit nival<\/strong>, pese a pron\u00f3sticos que en su momento parec\u00edan optimistas. Aunque <strong>a\u00fan quedan eventos de nieve en agosto y septiembre<\/strong>, la tendencia no es favorable.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><strong>Una tendencia que se alinea con los modelos clim\u00e1ticos<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>El panorama actual no es inesperado. Seg\u00fan Pastore, desde principios de los 2000 se elaboran modelos que ya anticipaban este tipo de escenarios: <strong>una disminuci\u00f3n sostenida de las nevadas<\/strong> en el mediano y largo plazo. Los datos recopilados en las \u00faltimas dos d\u00e9cadas <strong>coinciden con gran precisi\u00f3n<\/strong> con las proyecciones.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Los pron\u00f3sticos a 2050 y 2100<\/strong> advierten un contexto cada vez m\u00e1s seco, por lo que urge una <strong>nueva gobernanza del agua<\/strong> en San Juan, adem\u00e1s de una <strong>reforma profunda del C\u00f3digo de Aguas<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><strong>Dos fen\u00f3menos que explican la crisis de nieve<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Pastore explic\u00f3 que la baja cobertura de nieve en la cordillera se debe a <strong>dos fen\u00f3menos superpuestos<\/strong>. El primero, de car\u00e1cter <strong>natural y planetario<\/strong>, refiere a los <strong>ciclos clim\u00e1ticos<\/strong> de la Tierra. Actualmente, estamos finalizando una <strong>etapa de desglaciaci\u00f3n<\/strong>, lo que implica <strong>una menor acumulaci\u00f3n de nieve<\/strong> de forma natural.<\/p>\n<p>El segundo fen\u00f3meno es el <strong>impacto antr\u00f3pico<\/strong>, es decir, el efecto de la actividad humana en el planeta. El uso intensivo de fuentes de energ\u00eda genera <strong>gases de efecto invernadero<\/strong> que aceleran el <strong>calentamiento global<\/strong>. Desde la <strong>Revoluci\u00f3n Industrial<\/strong>, la temperatura media del planeta aument\u00f3 <strong>m\u00e1s de 1,5 \u00b0C<\/strong>, desplazando la <strong>isoterma de 0 \u00b0C<\/strong> a mayores altitudes en zonas cordilleranas.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><strong>Isotermas m\u00e1s altas, menos nieve acumulada y menos agua<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Antes, la <strong>isoterma de cero grados<\/strong> se encontraba en torno a los <strong>3.800 metros<\/strong>, lo que garantizaba que muchas de las precipitaciones fueran en forma de <strong>nieve<\/strong>, que luego se transformaba en <strong>agua de deshielo<\/strong> para riego.
