Ce qui a retenu l\u2019attention des m\u00e9t\u00e9orologues, c\u2019est le <strong>risque \u00e9lev\u00e9 de gr\u00eale exceptionnelle<\/strong>, atteignant potentiellement <strong>la taille d\u2019une balle de baseball<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><strong>Des orages particuli\u00e8rement puissants dans le sud du Qu\u00e9bec<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Depuis <strong>le d\u00e9but de la journ\u00e9e<\/strong>, une <strong>activit\u00e9 orageuse soutenue<\/strong> s\u2019est install\u00e9e sur de larges portions du <strong>sud du Qu\u00e9bec<\/strong>. Des orages forts ont \u00e9t\u00e9 signal\u00e9s du <strong>Bas-Saint-Laurent<\/strong> jusqu\u2019\u00e0 la <strong>Gasp\u00e9sie<\/strong>, en passant par <strong>l\u2019Estrie<\/strong>, <strong>la Beauce<\/strong> et <strong>la Capitale-Nationale<\/strong>. Le long du <strong>fleuve Saint-Laurent<\/strong>, les conditions sont devenues propices \u00e0 la formation de <strong>cellules orageuses s\u00e9v\u00e8res<\/strong>, incluant <strong>des pluies torrentielles<\/strong>, <strong>des vents violents<\/strong> atteignant parfois <strong>90 km\/h<\/strong>, ainsi que de <strong>la gr\u00eale de grande taille<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><strong>Gr\u00ealons massifs observ\u00e9s \u00e0 Lac-Etchemin et Saint-Benjamin<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Ce jeudi matin, <strong>Environnement Canada<\/strong> a \u00e9mis une <strong>alerte sp\u00e9cifique<\/strong> pour les environs de <strong>Lac-Etchemin<\/strong>, dans <strong>Chaudi\u00e8re-Appalaches<\/strong>. Le bulletin mentionnait <strong>un orage tr\u00e8s intense<\/strong> accompagn\u00e9 de <strong>pr\u00e9cipitations intenses<\/strong>, de <strong>rafales puissantes<\/strong> et surtout de <strong>gr\u00ealons g\u00e9ants<\/strong>, dont <strong>le diam\u00e8tre pourrait approcher celui d\u2019une balle de baseball (7 cm \/ 2,75 pouces)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Des <strong>t\u00e9moignages visuels<\/strong> et des <strong>photos spectaculaires<\/strong>, notamment \u00e0 <strong>Sainte-Rose-de-Watford<\/strong> et <strong>Saint-Benjamin<\/strong>, confirment la pr\u00e9sence de ces <strong>gr\u00ealons anormalement gros<\/strong>. La violence de cette cellule orageuse a \u00e9t\u00e9 telle qu\u2019elle a poursuivi sa route <strong>vers le Maine<\/strong>, une fois pass\u00e9e de l\u2019autre c\u00f4t\u00e9 de la fronti\u00e8re.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><strong>Des dommages mat\u00e9riels et un risque de blessures graves<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Les <strong>gros gr\u00ealons<\/strong> comme ceux rapport\u00e9s aujourd\u2019hui peuvent causer <strong>des d\u00e9g\u00e2ts majeurs<\/strong> aux <strong>toitures<\/strong>, <strong>voitures<\/strong> et <strong>cultures<\/strong>, en plus de repr\u00e9senter un <strong>risque important pour la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 physique<\/strong>.
