The meeting was set to take place at Thoreau Demonstration Academy, but concerns over public safety due to potentially dangerous weather conditions, including strong winds, heavy rainfall, and the possibility of large hail, led organizers to postpone the event.

New date set for Monday, June 3

City officials have confirmed the event will now take place on Monday, June 3, at the same location, beginning at 6:00 p.m. The meeting is part of an ongoing effort to foster dialogue between city leaders and the Tulsa community, focusing on neighborhood development, public services, and civic engagement.

Severe storm risk throughout Monday night

According to meteorologists, storms are forecast to develop throughout Monday evening, especially after sunset, with the greatest threat being damaging straight-line winds and localized flooding in low-lying areas. Tulsa residents were urged to stay weather-aware, monitor local forecasts, and prepare for rapidly changing conditions.

The city’s decision to reschedule was made “out of an abundance of caution,” underscoring the importance of community safety in light of the approaching weather system.
