Stormy start to the week for the Houston area
A FOX 26 Storm Alert has been issued as strong to severe thunderstorms are expected to move across the Houston region overnight on Monday, May 26. The evening begins with the possibility of isolated showers, but by midnight, conditions will likely intensify. Residents should prepare for scattered storms, some of which may bring gusty winds, heavy downpours, and large hail.
Unsettled weather pattern through midweek
Tuesday morning may start with thunderstorms, but skies will gradually clear, leading to a warm and humid afternoon with highs close to 90°F (32°C). The stormy pattern continues on Wednesday, with frequent rain chances and daytime highs in the mid to upper 80s°F (29–31°C). Thursday remains muggy, with more scattered showers and thunderstorms likely during the day.
More storms into the weekend
By Friday and Saturday, the system becomes slightly less active but still capable of producing isolated storms. Afternoon temperatures will hover again around 90°F (32°C), with humid conditions persisting.
This active weather phase is part of a broader Gulf Coast disturbance, and Houston-area residents should remain alert through the end of the week.
