⚠️ Strong thunderstorms sweeping Montgomery County

From late morning Friday, a strong thunderstorm tracked across Clarksville, moving northeast at 40 mph, with gusts reaching 40 mph. The National Weather Service (NWS) warned of damaging winds, capable of breaking tree limbs and scattering unsecured objects.

⛈️ Friday: Rain dominates with thunderstorm threats

Showers and thunderstorms are expected throughout Friday, especially between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m., as the system strengthens. The temperature will peak near 83°F (28°C), with southerly winds between 5 and 10 mph. Rainfall amounts may reach half an inch, particularly under heavier cells.

Friday night remains mostly cloudy, with a low near 70°F (21°C). Rain and thunderstorms remain likely before 10 p.m., though with slightly reduced chances. Lighter precipitation is expected, ranging between 0.1 and 0.25 inches, but heavier localized bursts may occur.

🌧️ Saturday: Thunderstorms surge again

Saturday brings renewed instability. A 90% chance of showers and thunderstorms is forecast, especially after noon, as southwest winds pick up at 5 to 10 mph. Temperatures will reach around 82°F (28°C), with rainfall again potentially exceeding a quarter-inch during thunderstorms.

Saturday night, activity will diminish somewhat, with a 30% chance of lingering storms before 1 a.m. Conditions will be mostly cloudy, and the temperature will dip to about 70°F (21°C). Winds will calm overnight.

⛅ Sunday: Partial clearing, but storms not gone

Expect a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms throughout Sunday, with partly sunny skies and a high near 85°F (29°C). Winds will shift slightly to west-southwest around 5 mph, offering mild but unstable conditions.

Sunday night looks calmer but remains mostly cloudy, with another low around 70°F (21°C). Winds will ease again, becoming calm overnight.

🌀 Clarksville residents advised to remain alert

With persistent storm activity across Montgomery County, the risk of flooding, wind damage, and frequent lightning remains elevated into Sunday night. Conditions may shift quickly, so residents of Clarksville and nearby areas like Sango, New Providence, and Oak Grove should remain weather-aware through the weekend.
