Weather today: Hot and sunny conditions across the Denver metro
Denver is facing an intensely hot Wednesday as temperatures rise toward the upper 90s°F (36-38°C) and may even reach 100°F (38°C), matching the daily record last set in 2022. Mostly sunny skies will dominate the day, although cloud cover is expected to build slightly during the afternoon.
A Heat Advisory remains in effect from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. for the entire Front Range, as the combination of sweltering temperatures and light winds increases the risk of heat-related strain across the Denver area. In addition, an Air Quality Alert is active until 4 p.m., due to elevated levels of ground-level ozone. This makes Wednesday an official Pinpoint Weather Alert Day, highlighting the heightened heat risks impacting the urban corridor.
Weather tonight: Clouds hold steady with a mild breeze
Overnight, residual clouds from the afternoon will persist into the early night hours, accompanied by a gentle breeze before midnight. Temperatures will remain mild and well above average, bottoming out in the mid-60s°F (18-20°C).
Looking ahead: Cooling trend brings brief relief
Thursday will bring another hot afternoon, although slightly cooler than Wednesday, with highs in the low 90s°F (32-34°C) under partly cloudy skies. There is a slight chance of late-day thunderstorms, offering some local relief from the heat.
On Friday, storm chances increase, especially in the afternoon, while temperatures fall to a more comfortable low 80s°F (27-28°C). A mix of sunshine and cloud cover will set the tone for a more bearable end to the workweek.
Saturday opens the weekend with temperatures in the mid-80s°F (29-30°C), just below seasonal averages. Skies will be partly cloudy, and isolated storm chances return.
Sunday will warm up again with highs reaching the lower 90s°F (32-33°C). Expect a mix of partly to mostly sunny skies. Monday follows a similar pattern, holding in the low 90s°F, under sunny skies with minimal storm potential.
By Tuesday, temperatures will settle in the upper 80s°F (30-31°C). Partly cloudy skies will dominate the day, and afternoon thunderstorms are expected to develop once more.
