Summer warmth teases Seattle on Tuesday

Seattle is getting an early taste of summer this Tuesday, with temperatures expected to reach 77°F (25°C) — just a notch above the 76°F (24°C) recorded on May Day. According to National Weather Service meteorologist Dustin Guy, this surge in warmth will be short-lived, giving way to a cooler pattern starting Wednesday.

Skies over Puget Sound will be sunny and clear, with highs in the upper 70s°F (25–27°C). Areas in the southwest interior might even flirt with 80°F (27°C) as warm air continues to build in the region.

Big midweek change ahead

By Wednesday, a frontal system will move into Western Washington, introducing cooler air and a notable temperature drop — roughly 15°F (8°C) lower than Tuesday. This system won’t bring significant rainfall, but it’ll mark a sharp contrast from the warmth seen earlier in the week.

Expect scattered showers on Wednesday, with highs only reaching the low 60s°F (16–17°C). That cooler trend will hold through Thursday, keeping the region feeling much more like spring than summer.

Late week sunshine, moderate rebound

Thursday and Friday will see the return of mostly sunny skies, with temperatures gradually climbing back toward the upper 60s°F (20°C). Despite the shift, Dustin Guy describes the week overall as “pretty quiet” in terms of weather activity.
