CLARKSVILLE, Tennessee – A Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued for Montgomery County at 5:58 p.m. (CDT) on Monday, with the warning set to expire at 6:30 p.m., according to AccuWeather.
The National Weather Service reported that at 5:24 p.m., Doppler radar had been tracking a strong thunderstorm about 12 miles west of Ashland City, moving northeast at a speed of 20 mph.
Wind gusts of up to 40 mph (64 km/h) and hail up to half an inch in diameter (1.27 cm) are expected as the storm moves through the area.
The NWS advises that anyone outdoors should seek shelter inside a building immediately.
