☀️ Wednesday, June 11 – Friday, June 13: sunshine and warmth return

Weather conditions in Southern Connecticut will improve notably from today through Friday, thanks to a ridge of high pressure settling across the region. Expect bright, mostly clear skies, with a possible layer of high-altitude haze from ongoing Canadian wildfires—though no air quality issues are anticipated, as the smoke remains well aloft.

Temperatures will climb into the low to upper 80s°F (27°C to 31°C), with comfortable humidity levels. Thursday is expected to be the warmest day of the week, with light to moderate westerly winds.

🌧️ Saturday, June 14 – Sunday, June 15: unsettled with scattered showers

Unfortunately, the Father’s Day weekend forecast has taken a downward turn. While neither day looks like a complete washout, intermittent showers are likely on both Saturday and Sunday. The culprit is a stalled frontal boundary positioned just south of Connecticut, along which waves of low pressure will ride, keeping conditions unsettled.

Earlier forecasts suggested that a high-pressure system dropping in from eastern Canada could push the rain southward, but that scenario is now off the table. Expect cloudy skies, below-average highs, and periods of light to moderate rain.

Weekend high temperatures will stay in the upper 60s to low 70s°F (20°C to 22°C), which is cooler than the seasonal norm of 79°F (26°C) for the Hartford area.

🗓️ Extended forecast for Southern Connecticut

Wednesday, June 11: Widespread haze after 4pm. Patchy fog before 8am. Otherwise mostly sunny, with a high near 81°F (27°C). Light and variable wind becoming southwest 5 to 10 mph.

Thursday, June 12: Sunny, with a high near 87°F (31°C). West wind 6 to 13 mph.

Friday, June 13: Mostly sunny, with a high near 79°F (26°C). Calm wind becoming southeast around 6 mph in the afternoon.

Friday Night: 50% chance of showers. Increasing clouds, with a low around 60°F (16°C).

Saturday, June 14: Showers likely, mainly after 2pm. Cloudy, with a high near 71°F (22°C). Chance of precipitation: 70%.

Saturday Night: Showers likely, mainly before 2am. Cloudy, with a low around 58°F (14°C). Chance of precipitation: 60%.

Sunday, June 15: 30% chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 68°F (20°C).

Sunday Night: 30% chance of showers before 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 57°F (14°C).
