Gusty morning storms over Central Arkansas are weakening as they track toward Eastern Arkansas, bringing a brief break in activity by midday. Through the early afternoon, expect humid conditions and partial clearing, especially around the Little Rock metro and interior counties.

A second wave of thunderstorms is expected to form later this evening and persist overnight, affecting much of Central and Eastern Arkansas. While the overall severe weather risk remains low, there is potential for a few storms to produce strong wind gusts, intense downpours, and localized lightning. The chance of hail or an isolated tornado is very limited, but cannot be entirely dismissed.

Storm activity will linger into early Thursday morning, gradually tapering off by the afternoon. As this system moves out, drier and more stable air will begin to build in.

Looking ahead, Friday and the weekend will feature mostly sunny skies, with afternoon highs climbing into the mid-90s°F (around 35°C). With heat index values nearing or surpassing 100°F (38°C), oppressive humidity will be a dominant feature across Southern and Central Arkansas by late week.
