Hot and humid conditions are back in Southeast Wisconsin today, with temperatures climbing into the low 90s°F (33-34°C) by the afternoon. Saturday will feel oppressively warm, especially in urban and lakefront areas where heat lingers longer before storms arrive.

Lake Michigan won’t offer much relief early in the day, as sunshine and southwest winds push the mercury up fast. Expect heat index values ranging between 95 and 100°F (35-38°C). Skies will stay mostly sunny into the early evening, allowing daytime heating to intensify.

By late afternoon, after about 4 to 5 p.m., a broken line of thunderstorms is forecast to move into Southern Wisconsin, bringing locally heavy downpours, frequent lightning, rumbles of thunder, and gusty winds. Rainfall may become moderate to heavy, especially in areas along and south of I-94.

Overnight, storm activity may persist as a cold front sweeps through the region, shifting conditions into cooler territory for Sunday. Expect Sunday’s highs to reach only the upper 70s to low 80s°F (26-28°C), with mostly cloudy skies and lingering scattered showers possible through the morning.

Sunshine returns on Monday, with milder temperatures holding near 78°F (26°C). As we move through the first full week of July, the atmosphere stays humid, with afternoon highs rising again into the low to mid 80s°F (28-29°C). There’s a chance of pop-up storms during the second half of the week, though many hours will remain dry.

Saturday’s forecast includes breezy southwest winds at 10 to 15 mph, while tonight those winds relax slightly to 5 to 10 mph. The overnight low stays warm around 72°F (22°C).

Keep an eye on conditions, especially if you have evening plans outdoors, as storm timing and intensity can vary locally.
