Tuesday’s weather across northern and western portions of Middle Tennessee brings an increased chance of strong thunderstorms, especially for areas north of I-40 and west of I-65. According to the WKRN Weather Authority, a Marginal Risk (level 1 out of 5) has been issued for these locations, meaning isolated strong to severe storms are possible.
Gusty winds and torrential rain are the primary concerns, particularly during the afternoon and evening hours. While showers may begin earlier in the day, the most intense weather activity is forecast between mid-afternoon and late evening.
Localized flash flooding could become an issue as the region is expected to pick up around 1 to 2 inches of rain (25 to 50 mm) through Friday. Heavier downpours in some neighborhoods may result in even higher totals, raising concerns for brief but intense flooding in vulnerable spots.
