The Storm Prediction Center has placed most of Central Florida under a marginal risk for severe weather — that’s level 1 out of 5, meaning isolated strong to severe storms are possible. While most of the region will see just rain and thunder, a few stronger cells could develop throughout the day and into the evening hours.
Flooding risks remain low overall, but minor flooding can’t be ruled out in low-lying or poorly drained areas, especially where heavier rain bands settle in. For those used to trouble spots, now’s the time to stay weather-aware.
Meanwhile, the News 6 Pinpoint Weather Team is keeping an eye on the northern Gulf of Mexico, where the National Hurricane Center has highlighted an area of interest. As of now, tropical development chances are low, but the system is expected to funnel deep tropical moisture toward Florida, helping to keep rain chances elevated through much of the upcoming week.
Stay with News 6 for live radar updates and the latest on these developing storms as they continue to impact the Orlando metro area, Volusia County, Lake County, and beyond.
