CLARKSVILLE, Tennessee (Friday, July 18, 2025, 7:30 p.m. local time) – The National Weather Service in Nashville has issued a Flash Flood Warning for central Montgomery County, including Clarksville, Palmyra and Woodlawn, remaining in effect until 10:30 p.m..
As of 7:26 p.m., radar imagery showed intense thunderstorms unleashing heavy rainfall across the area. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain have already fallen, and flash flooding is either in progress or anticipated to begin shortly.
The flood risk is especially critical in low-lying zones, including small creeks, streams, urban neighborhoods, underpasses, roadways and other poor drainage areas.
Residents in Clarksville and nearby locations should expect rapid water accumulation, particularly in vulnerable flood-prone sectors.
The NWS strongly emphasizes: “Turn around, don’t drown” when approaching flooded roads. The majority of flood-related fatalities happen in vehicles. Remain vigilant, and avoid driving through inundated streets.
