The National Weather Service (NWS)<\/strong> has issued an array of winter storm warnings<\/strong> and advisories<\/strong> stretching across Montana<\/strong>, Colorado<\/strong>, New Mexico<\/strong>, Wyoming<\/strong>, and Utah<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The NWS in Pueblo<\/strong> reports that between 12 and 24 inches (30\u201360 cm)<\/strong> of snow are forecast in parts of southern Colorado<\/strong>, especially within the Sangre de Cristo Mountains<\/strong>, Wet Mountains<\/strong>, and near Pikes Peak<\/strong>. Localized totals may reach 36 inches (91 cm)<\/strong> over the highest ridges and summits. These dramatic snowfalls are set to impact areas above 8,000 feet<\/strong>, with the heaviest bands developing late Tuesday into Wednesday morning<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Winter storm warnings<\/strong> are in effect across the northern and central Rockies<\/strong>, especially in higher terrain of western and southern Montana<\/strong> and north-central New Mexico<\/strong>, where accumulations between 8 and 18 inches (20\u201346 cm)<\/strong> are possible.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, winter weather advisories<\/strong> cover parts of southwestern Wyoming<\/strong> and northern Utah<\/strong>, including regions around Rock Springs<\/strong>, Evanston<\/strong>, and the Wasatch Range<\/strong>, where lighter snowfall<\/strong> will still make travel hazardous due to slick roads and reduced visibility<\/strong>.<\/p>\n According to the NWS<\/strong>, the wet and heavy snow could break tree branches<\/strong>, down power lines<\/strong>, and disrupt electrical service<\/strong>, especially in areas with leafed-out trees<\/strong>.
