While parts of the <strong>Twin Cities metro<\/strong>, such as <strong>Richfield<\/strong>, <strong>Bloomington<\/strong>, and <strong>Eden Prairie<\/strong>, recorded totals between <strong>1.63 and 1.76 inches<\/strong>, some <strong>outstate communities<\/strong> experienced even more significant downpours.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><strong>New Ulm recorded the highest rainfall<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The <strong>highest total<\/strong> reported came from <strong>New Ulm<\/strong>, where <strong>2.5 inches (63.5 mm)<\/strong> of rain were measured. This figure places <strong>New Ulm<\/strong> at the <strong>top of the rainfall list<\/strong> for this recent storm event. Other locations also experienced notable totals:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Hutchinson<\/strong> received <strong>2.14 inches (54.4 mm)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Northfield<\/strong> saw <strong>2.11 inches (53.6 mm)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Essig<\/strong> and <strong>Arlington<\/strong> both came in just above <strong>2 inches (50.8 mm)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><strong>Twin Cities metro sees less, but still a solid soaking<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>In the <strong>metro area<\/strong>, <strong>Richfield<\/strong> led with <strong>1.76 inches (44.7 mm)<\/strong>, followed by <strong>Bloomington<\/strong> with <strong>1.65 inches (41.9 mm)<\/strong> and <strong>Eden Prairie<\/strong> at <strong>1.63 inches (41.4 mm)<\/strong>. These amounts represent a <strong>significant rainfall event<\/strong> for <strong>May<\/strong>, especially considering <strong>some earlier dry spells<\/strong> in the region.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><strong>Rainfall diminishing, but isolated showers linger<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>As of <strong>Tuesday afternoon<\/strong>, the <strong>rain has largely tapered off<\/strong>, though <strong>occasional showers<\/strong> may still appear through the evening hours.
