Middle Tennessee<\/strong> was rocked by a severe weather outbreak<\/strong> on Tuesday<\/strong>, with storm survey teams<\/strong> now confirming that five tornadoes<\/strong> touched down across the region. The National Weather Service (NWS)<\/strong> also documented widespread wind damage<\/strong> and baseball-sized hail<\/strong>, particularly in and around Williamson County<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The strongest tornado<\/strong> identified by the NWS<\/strong> was an EF-1<\/strong>, with wind speeds up to 85 mph (137 km\/h)<\/strong>. This tornado carved a path through southern Cumberland County<\/strong>, just outside Crossville<\/strong>, causing minor structural damage<\/strong> to at least a dozen homes<\/strong>. Despite its strength, no fatalities or serious injuries were reported.<\/p>\n In Montgomery County<\/strong>, two separate EF-0 tornadoes<\/strong> touched down in Clarksville<\/strong>. The first hit North Clarksville<\/strong>, near Fort Campbell<\/strong>, followed by a second touchdown on the city\u2019s south side<\/strong> about 20 minutes later<\/strong>. Several homes were damaged, though the overall destruction remained limited.<\/p>\n An additional EF-0 tornado<\/strong> in Bedford County<\/strong>, near Shiloh<\/strong>, snapped trees<\/strong> and damaged a few structures<\/strong>. Meanwhile, in Marshall County<\/strong>, another EF-0<\/strong> was strong enough to lift a barn roof<\/strong> and bring down trees<\/strong> across the countryside.<\/p>\n In Rutherford County<\/strong>, the NWS<\/strong> confirmed a downburst<\/strong> with wind speeds reaching 80 mph (129 km\/h)<\/strong>. This powerful gust event felled numerous trees<\/strong>, blocked Interstate 24<\/strong>, and caused damage to homes<\/strong> in the Blackman<\/strong> area of Murfreesboro<\/strong>.
