The most <strong>severe storm<\/strong> at the moment is situated near <strong>Frankville<\/strong>, in <strong>northern Washington County<\/strong>, where <strong>radar imagery<\/strong> highlights a <strong>high risk of damaging wind gusts<\/strong> and possibly <strong>hail<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>These storms are part of a <strong>slow-moving system<\/strong> associated with a <strong>remnant mesoscale convective vortex (MCV)<\/strong>. This cluster is drifting <strong>eastward<\/strong> across the <strong>central Gulf Coast<\/strong>, gradually organizing into a more cohesive line. Although <strong>no official warnings<\/strong> are currently in effect, <strong>significant weather advisories<\/strong> are active for the <strong>strongest cells<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><strong>Storm Prediction Center closely monitoring the area<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The <strong>Storm Prediction Center (SPC)<\/strong> has issued a <strong>mesoscale discussion<\/strong>, indicating a <strong>60% probability<\/strong> of a <strong>Severe Thunderstorm Watch<\/strong> being issued soon. The atmosphere remains <strong>moderately unstable<\/strong>, supported by <strong>ample low-level moisture<\/strong>, which may lead to further <strong>intensification<\/strong> of storms as they track <strong>east-southeast<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>As radar trends show, <strong>individual storm cells<\/strong> are starting to <strong>merge<\/strong> into a <strong>more organized cluster<\/strong>, which could result in <strong>broader damaging wind threats<\/strong>. While <strong>hail<\/strong> is less widespread, <strong>discrete stronger storms<\/strong> may still generate <strong>pockets of hail activity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><strong>Central Alabama seeing a temporary lull<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Earlier today, storms swept across <strong>central Alabama<\/strong> and have since shifted into <strong>Georgia<\/strong>, temporarily easing the <strong>severe threat<\/strong> for areas east of <strong>I-65<\/strong>. However, forecasters expect <strong>new storms to develop<\/strong> later tonight, especially <strong>between 7 PM and 10 PM<\/strong>, mainly <strong>west of I-65<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>With <strong>already saturated soils<\/strong> and <strong>recent flooding incidents<\/strong>, <strong>heavy rainfall<\/strong> tonight could easily trigger <strong>flash flooding<\/strong>, particularly in <strong>urban zones<\/strong> and <strong>low-lying rural locations<\/strong>. A <strong>Flood Watch<\/strong> remains in effect for parts of <strong>central Alabama<\/strong> until at least <strong>1 AM<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><strong>Dense fog risk late tonight into early Wednesday<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Later tonight, <strong>partial clearing<\/strong> could lead to the formation of <strong>dense fog<\/strong>, especially in <strong>northern counties<\/strong> bordering <strong>Tennessee<\/strong>.
