A brief pause from the rain in North Texas<\/strong><\/p>\n DALLAS<\/strong>, Tuesday, May 28, 2025<\/strong> \u2014 After a wet and stormy Monday<\/strong> that drenched the Dallas-Fort Worth<\/strong> area with over 2 inches of rain<\/strong>, Tuesday<\/strong> offers a short-lived break<\/strong> from the showers. Despite still-damp streets and lawns<\/strong>, no new rain<\/strong> is expected for much of North Texas<\/strong> today, providing a brief reprieve from the unsettled weather.<\/p>\n Temperatures have also cooled notably following the storms. Monday\u2019s high of 83\u00b0F (28\u00b0C)<\/strong> was a significant drop from the mid-90s\u00b0F (mid-30s\u00b0C)<\/strong> seen over the Memorial Day weekend<\/strong>. This cooling trend<\/strong> is expected to persist throughout the rest of the week, with highs near 80\u00b0F (27\u00b0C)<\/strong> \u2014 a few degrees below normal<\/strong> for late May<\/strong> in North Texas<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Patchy morning fog<\/strong> and partly sunny skies<\/strong> will dominate today\u2019s forecast. However, some southern counties near Waco<\/strong> may still see isolated showers<\/strong> as moisture lingers in the atmosphere. Winds will remain light from the northeast<\/strong>, at 5 to 10 mph<\/strong>, helping maintain cooler daytime conditions.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Storm chances rise again midweek<\/strong><\/p>\n By Wednesday<\/strong>, the weather becomes more unsettled<\/strong>. The chance of showers and thunderstorms<\/strong> will increase through the day, particularly during the afternoon hours<\/strong>, when the probability reaches about 50%<\/strong>. Thursday<\/strong> brings even more instability with a greater likelihood of thunderstorms<\/strong>, as the area remains under the influence of eastern winds<\/strong> drawing in moisture.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Looking ahead to the weekend<\/strong><\/p>\n The forecast improves by Friday<\/strong>, which should be partly cloudy and mild<\/strong>, with highs in the lower 80s\u00b0F (around 28\u00b0C)<\/strong>. By Saturday<\/strong>, sunshine returns<\/strong> mixed with clouds, and temperatures will rise slightly to a high near 85\u00b0F (29\u00b0C)<\/strong>.
