Severe weather alerts expire for Harris, Fort Bend and nearby counties<\/strong><\/p>\n Weather alerts across southeast Texas<\/strong> have officially expired<\/strong> following heavy rainfall<\/strong> Friday morning. According to the National Weather Service<\/strong>, a severe thunderstorm warning<\/strong> was in effect for Fort Bend County<\/strong> until 11:15 a.m. CDT<\/strong>, and for Harris<\/strong>, Galveston<\/strong>, and Brazoria counties<\/strong> until 11:30 a.m. CDT<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Friday\u2019s conditions: isolated rain and unstable fronts<\/strong><\/p>\n As we remain in the heart of Texas\u2019s severe weather season<\/strong>, Friday, May 30<\/strong>, brought scattered showers and isolated storms<\/strong>, mainly along or south of the I-10 corridor<\/strong>, with additional rain chances north<\/strong> of the Houston metro area<\/strong> in the afternoon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n A weak cold front<\/strong> moved through the region, bringing brief but heavy downpours<\/strong>, small hail<\/strong>, gusty winds<\/strong>, and frequent lightning<\/strong>. A few more thunderstorms<\/strong> could develop later Friday afternoon and evening<\/strong> near the trailing edge of the front.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Rising temperatures ahead: summer-like weekend coming<\/strong><\/p>\n Highs on Friday<\/strong> are expected to reach near 90\u00b0F (32\u00b0C)<\/strong>.
