This <strong>risk zone<\/strong> primarily covers the <strong>southern<\/strong> and <strong>northwestern<\/strong> parts of the state. While these storms are expected to be <strong>isolated<\/strong>, they could bring <strong>damaging wind gusts<\/strong> and <strong>hail<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>As of <strong>Thursday morning<\/strong>, <strong>rain<\/strong> and <strong>thunderstorms<\/strong> were already moving across much of <em>Alabama<\/em>. These unsettled conditions are expected to <strong>continue through the evening<\/strong>, with <strong>stronger storms<\/strong> posing the greatest threat into <strong>Thursday night<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Friday: stronger storms, especially in the southeast<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Friday\u2019s forecast<\/strong> features a <strong>heightened risk<\/strong>, particularly for <strong>southeast Alabama<\/strong>, which is now under a <strong>Level 2 (slight) risk<\/strong>. This upgraded category means there is a potential for <strong>scattered severe thunderstorms<\/strong>, with <strong>hail<\/strong> and <strong>damaging winds<\/strong> again being the primary hazards. The most intense storms are forecast to develop during the <strong>afternoon and evening hours<\/strong> as a <strong>cold front<\/strong> progresses through the region.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the <strong>southern<\/strong> and <strong>eastern parts of central Alabama<\/strong>, as well as the rest of the <strong>south<\/strong>, remain under a <strong>Level 1 risk<\/strong>, meaning <strong>less widespread but still hazardous<\/strong> weather remains possible.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday brings relief, but north Alabama could see storms Sunday<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>By <strong>Saturday<\/strong>, the <strong>cold front<\/strong> is expected to move out of the state, ushering in <strong>drier air<\/strong> and <strong>lower humidity<\/strong> for <strong>most of Alabama<\/strong>. This change should signal the start of a <strong>quieter weather pattern<\/strong> for the <strong>weekend<\/strong> and the <strong>start of next week<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>However, the <strong>National Weather Service<\/strong> notes that <strong>north Alabama<\/strong> may still experience <strong>a few afternoon thunderstorms<\/strong> on <strong>Sunday<\/strong>. Even so, <strong>no severe weather<\/strong> is anticipated across the state beyond <strong>Friday<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Humidity levels are forecast to <strong>drop this weekend<\/strong>, making for more <strong>comfortable conditions<\/strong>, especially across the <strong>southern<\/strong> and <strong>central regions<\/strong>.
