weather risk across Wichita and southern Kansas on Sunday, June 8<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Today, Sunday, June 8<\/strong>, the <strong>Wichita area<\/strong> and much of <strong>southern Kansas<\/strong> face a <strong>threat of severe thunderstorms<\/strong>, according to meteorologist <strong>Dean Jones<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Scattered storms<\/strong> are expected to <strong>develop early to mid-afternoon<\/strong> across <strong>southern Kansas<\/strong>, continuing into the <strong>evening hours<\/strong> before shifting into <strong>northern Oklahoma around sunset<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>These storms may produce <strong>large hail up to golf ball size<\/strong> and <strong>damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><strong>Storm-free stretch expected from Monday through Wednesday<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Following today&#8217;s activity, <strong>dry and stable weather<\/strong> will dominate the forecast across <strong>Kansas<\/strong> from <strong>Monday through Wednesday<\/strong>. <strong>High temperatures<\/strong> will climb into the <strong>80s\u00b0F (upper 20s\u00b0C)<\/strong> under mostly <strong>sunny skies<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><strong>Slight chance of isolated storms Thursday<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>A <strong>weak storm system<\/strong> may bring a <strong>few isolated thunderstorms<\/strong> to <strong>eastern Kansas<\/strong> on <strong>Thursday<\/strong>, but <strong>severe weather is not expected<\/strong> with this round.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><strong>Hotter pattern likely by mid-June<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Looking ahead, a <strong>warming trend<\/strong> is expected to return by <strong>early next week<\/strong>, with <strong>highs climbing back into the 90s\u00b0F (32\u00b0C+)<\/strong>, marking the start of a <strong>hotter mid-June pattern<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Wichita area forecast<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Sunday, June 8<\/strong>:
