Forecasts suggest about a quarter inch (6 mm)<\/strong> of rainfall is expected later in the day.<\/p>\n Western Massachusetts, southern Vermont, and southern New Hampshire<\/strong> remain under flood watches<\/strong> following Friday\u2019s severe storms<\/strong>, which brought heavy downpours and flash flooding. An additional 1 to 2 inches (25\u201350 mm)<\/strong> of rain is expected today, increasing the risk of excessive runoff, overflowing rivers and creeks, and urban drainage issues<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Cold front pushing slowly southeast with storm line<\/strong><\/p>\n Rain and isolated embedded thunderstorms<\/strong> will develop by late morning across northern New England<\/strong>, forming along and ahead of a slow-moving cold front<\/strong> that\u2019s sliding southeastward. Boston<\/strong> is likely to see rain between 4 and 7 p.m.<\/strong>, with showers reaching Cape Cod<\/strong> around dinnertime<\/strong>. The front will move offshore by sunset<\/strong>, making this a good evening to look out for rainbows<\/strong> as sunlight breaks through the clearing skies.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Cooler temperatures and lower humidity for Sunday<\/strong><\/p>\n Tonight\u2019s lows will dip into the 50s \u00b0F (10\u201315 \u00b0C)<\/strong>, with areas of patchy fog<\/strong> possible overnight. By Sunday, humidity levels drop<\/strong>, giving way to some sunshine<\/strong>. Sea breezes<\/strong> will keep coastal highs in the 60s \u00b0F (15\u201320 \u00b0C)<\/strong>, while inland areas<\/strong> warm up to the mid and upper 70s \u00b0F (24\u201326 \u00b0C)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Unsettled start to the week with more rain chances<\/strong><\/p>\n Onshore flow continues into Monday<\/strong>, keeping highs in the 60s \u00b0F (15\u201320 \u00b0C)<\/strong>. Scattered showers<\/strong> return as a small disturbance<\/strong> tracks south of the region. Most of the rain arrives Tuesday<\/strong> with a warm front<\/strong>, followed by a cold front<\/strong> pushing through between Tuesday night and Wednesday<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Sunshine and summer heat build midweek<\/strong><\/p>\n By midweek<\/strong>, drier air<\/strong> and sunshine<\/strong> help push temperatures back into the low 80s \u00b0F (27\u201328 \u00b0C)<\/strong>.
