Thanks to strong sunshine and early-afternoon heat<\/strong>, the atmosphere is becoming unstable<\/strong>, laying the groundwork for storms to erupt rapidly<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The yellow shaded area<\/strong> on the updated SPC outlook map<\/strong> now indicates a level 2 (slight) risk<\/strong> for severe weather<\/strong>. This zone now includes Grand Rapids<\/strong>, Kalamazoo<\/strong>, Lansing<\/strong>, Jackson<\/strong>, Flint<\/strong>, Saginaw<\/strong>, and Bay City<\/strong>.
