This atmospheric combination is setting the stage for <strong>widespread thunderstorms<\/strong> and <strong>potential flash flooding<\/strong> across <strong>Central and South Texas<\/strong>, especially around <strong>San Antonio<\/strong>, over the next <strong>36 hours<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u26a0\ufe0f Wednesday night into Thursday: San Antonio in spotlight<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While a first <strong>cluster of thunderstorms<\/strong> passed through <strong>early Wednesday<\/strong>, dropping <strong>0.4 to 0.8 inches<\/strong> of rain across <strong>Bexar County<\/strong> and nearly <strong>2 inches<\/strong> across parts of the <strong>Hill Country<\/strong> from <strong>Kerrville to Fredericksburg<\/strong>, <strong>the most dangerous phase begins late tonight<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>By <strong>10 p.m. Wednesday<\/strong>, another <strong>strong line of storms<\/strong> is forecast to arrive. According to the <strong>Storm Prediction Center<\/strong>, <strong>San Antonio<\/strong> is under a <strong>Level 2 of 5 severe risk<\/strong>, with <strong>damaging winds<\/strong>, <strong>large hail<\/strong>, and <strong>localized flash flooding<\/strong> likely.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>core risk window<\/strong> is from <strong>11 p.m. Wednesday<\/strong> through <strong>7 a.m. Thursday<\/strong>. Radar projections suggest <strong>slow-moving cells<\/strong>, meaning <strong>flood-prone zones<\/strong> may see over <strong>4 inches<\/strong> of rainfall. Those on the roads tonight into the early morning should expect <strong>dangerous travel conditions<\/strong>, with <strong>high water areas<\/strong> especially risky.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>\ud83c\udf26\ufe0f Thursday: More rounds possible, uncertain rain totals<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Storm activity may <strong>linger into Thursday<\/strong>, especially in the <strong>morning<\/strong>, followed by <strong>isolated storms<\/strong> into the afternoon. However, <strong>saturated soils<\/strong> could <strong>exacerbate flooding<\/strong>, particularly in neighborhoods still recovering from earlier storms.<\/p>\n<p>Temperatures on Thursday should reach the <strong>upper 80s to near 90\u00b0F<\/strong> (<strong>31 to 32\u00b0C<\/strong>), but <strong>elevated humidity<\/strong> will make it feel closer to <strong>98\u00b0F (37\u00b0C)<\/strong>. <strong>Morning lows<\/strong> will hover in the <strong>mid-70s\u00b0F (24\u00b0C)<\/strong>, adding to the tropical feel.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>\ud83d\udcca Forecast rainfall outlook through Friday<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Forecast models remain <strong>highly variable<\/strong>, but the <strong>National Weather Service<\/strong> gives <strong>San Antonio<\/strong> a <strong>32% chance<\/strong> of recording <strong>at least 3 inches (76 mm)<\/strong> of rain before the week ends. The most probable range is between <strong>1 and 3 inches (25 to 76 mm)<\/strong>, though areas farther north in the <strong>Hill Country<\/strong> may <strong>exceed these totals<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>\ud83c\udf24\ufe0f Weekend: Reduced storm activity, warmer air returns<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>By the <strong>weekend<\/strong>, storm chances will <strong>taper to around 20%<\/strong>, with <strong>temperatures rebounding<\/strong>.
