After yesterday\u2019s generous rainfall, we\u2019ll have one more shot at scattered thunderstorms<\/strong>, mostly south and east of Highway 59\/I-69<\/strong>, which serves as the dividing line<\/strong> between higher and lower rain risks<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n A quiet morning, but a lively afternoon ahead<\/strong><\/p>\n The day starts off quiet<\/strong>, but that will change by late morning. After 10 or 11 AM<\/strong>, expect scattered downpours and thunderstorms to blossom<\/strong>, especially across areas like Galveston<\/strong>, Matagorda Bay<\/strong>, and the immediate coastal region<\/strong>. A Flood Watch remains in effect<\/strong> for counties from Louisiana to Matagorda<\/strong>, where hourly rainfall totals of 2 to 4 inches<\/strong> could cause street flooding<\/strong>, particularly on Galveston Island<\/strong>.<\/p>\n As the day progresses, storms will spread inland northwest<\/strong>, though they\u2019ll remain more scattered away from the coast<\/strong>.
