A significant weather system<\/strong> is setting up over a large portion of Mexico<\/strong> this Sunday<\/strong>, driven by several atmospheric phenomena<\/strong>. A combination of low-pressure channels<\/strong> over the Mesa del Norte<\/strong>, Mesa Central<\/strong>, and the eastern and southeastern parts of the country, along with humid air<\/strong> from the Gulf of Mexico<\/strong>, will bring intense rainfall<\/strong> to Tabasco<\/strong>, Veracruz<\/strong>, San Luis Potos\u00ed<\/strong>, and Tamaulipas<\/strong>. At the same time, very heavy showers<\/strong> are expected in Hidalgo<\/strong>, Estado de M\u00e9xico<\/strong>, Quer\u00e9taro<\/strong>, Aguascalientes<\/strong>, and Zacatecas<\/strong>, while strong downpours<\/strong> will affect Tlaxcala<\/strong>, Morelos<\/strong>, Ciudad de M\u00e9xico<\/strong>, Guanajuato<\/strong>, Nuevo Le\u00f3n<\/strong>, and Coahuila<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The moist flow from the Pacific Ocean<\/strong>, interacting with atmospheric instability<\/strong> over the western states, will favor intense precipitation<\/strong> in Oaxaca<\/strong> and Chiapas<\/strong>, and very heavy rain<\/strong> in Guerrero<\/strong>, Michoac\u00e1n<\/strong>, Colima<\/strong>, and Jalisco<\/strong>. Meanwhile, the Mexican monsoon<\/strong> active over the northwest<\/strong> will trigger intense storms<\/strong> in Chihuahua<\/strong> and Durango<\/strong>, very heavy precipitation<\/strong> in Nayarit<\/strong>, and strong storms<\/strong> in Sinaloa<\/strong>, with scattered showers<\/strong> expected in Sonora<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

A separate tropical wave<\/strong> \u2014 wave number 5<\/strong> \u2014 moving into the Yucat\u00e1n Peninsula<\/strong> will bring very heavy rainfall<\/strong> to Quintana Roo<\/strong> and Yucat\u00e1n<\/strong>, along with strong storms<\/strong> in Campeche<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
