A line of thunderstorms<\/strong> is forecast to drift slowly southeastward<\/strong> from the Upper Peninsula<\/strong> starting later today, reaching northwest Lower Michigan<\/strong> during the second half of the evening<\/strong>, likely after 8 p.m. and before midnight<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The southern two-thirds of Lower Michigan<\/strong> will stay thunderstorm-free<\/strong>, as temperatures aloft remain too hot<\/strong> to allow storms to develop. However, dangerously hot and humid conditions<\/strong> will persist through the day\u2014highs reaching well into the 90s\u00b0F (mid-30s\u00b0C)<\/strong>\u2014making it important to stay cautious in the heat.<\/p>\n

Radar forecast and timing<\/strong><\/h3>\n

From 4 p.m. today to 8 a.m. Tuesday, June 24<\/strong>, the radar models<\/strong> show thunderstorms weakening after 10 p.m.<\/strong>, as the upper-air support fades<\/strong>. This suggests that while instability from the day\u2019s heat and humidity<\/strong> may trigger scattered severe activity<\/strong>, the system won\u2019t be widespread or particularly fast-moving.<\/p>\n
