Wednesday, June 25, 2025<\/strong> is bringing a much-anticipated change in the weather across Connecticut<\/strong>, although today will still feel decidedly hot<\/strong>. After two straight days of near triple-digit temperatures<\/strong>, today’s air may feel slightly<\/em> less oppressive, but it’s still far from cool<\/strong>.<\/p>\n This record-setting heat wave<\/strong> in Connecticut<\/strong> is reaching its final day<\/strong>, but intense heat<\/strong> remains in place. Highs will once again climb into the low to mid 90s (90\u201396\u00b0F \/ 32\u201336\u00b0C)<\/strong> across much of the state, with the heat index approaching 100\u00b0F (38\u00b0C)<\/strong> during the afternoon, especially in the inland areas.<\/p>\n Humidity remains sticky and uncomfortable<\/strong>, with dew points<\/strong> holding in the mid-60s\u00b0F (around 18\u201320\u00b0C)<\/strong>. The hazy sunshine<\/strong> and partly filtered skies<\/strong> are doing little to ease the discomfort, even if moisture levels are just a touch lower than on Monday<\/strong> and Tuesday<\/strong>.<\/p>\n During the afternoon, isolated showers<\/strong> and perhaps a brief thunderstorm<\/strong> are possible, particularly inland. However, most of Connecticut will stay dry<\/strong> through the day.<\/p>\n Northwest winds<\/strong> will stay light, between 5 and 15 mph<\/strong>, providing some slight relief<\/strong>, though not enough to meaningfully cut through the heat.<\/p>\n Thursday, June 26<\/strong> will finally bring a dramatic change<\/strong>, with temperatures dipping into the low to mid 70s (21\u201324\u00b0C)<\/strong> and humidity levels falling sharply<\/strong>. Expect mostly cloudy skies<\/strong> and spotty showers<\/strong>, but the day is not expected to be a washout.<\/p>\n Friday, June 27<\/strong> will remain cool and breezy<\/strong>, with afternoon highs struggling to reach 70\u00b0F (21\u00b0C)<\/strong>\u2014a drop of nearly 30 degrees Fahrenheit (16\u00b0C)<\/strong> compared to the peak of this week\u2019s heat.<\/p>\n But the heat isn’t gone for good<\/strong>: temperatures will gradually climb<\/strong> over the weekend, reaching into the 80s (27\u201330\u00b0C)<\/strong>. Early signs suggest another heat wave<\/strong> could develop as July<\/strong> begins.<\/p>\n Shoreline<\/strong> (including Stamford, Bridgeport, New Haven, New London<\/em>): Hot, hazy, and humid<\/strong> with a light northwest breeze<\/strong> at 5\u201315 mph<\/strong>. Highs between 90 and 95\u00b0F (32\u201335\u00b0C)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Inland areas<\/strong> (Danbury, Waterbury, Greater Hartford, Windham<\/em>): Still hot and humid<\/strong>, though less brutal<\/strong> than earlier in the week. Isolated afternoon showers<\/strong>, but many areas stay dry. Highs between 90 and 96\u00b0F (32\u201336\u00b0C)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Litchfield Hills<\/strong> (Torrington, Litchfield, Winchester<\/em>): Hot and sticky<\/strong> with hazy sunshine<\/strong>. A scattered shower or thunderstorm<\/strong> is possible late in the day.
