High heat to dominate Phoenix from Sunday through Tuesday<\/strong><\/p>\n PHOENIX, Arizona (Wednesday, June 25, 2025, 7:30 PM local time)<\/strong> \u2014 Dangerous heat<\/strong> is making a comeback in central Arizona<\/strong>, prompting First Alert Weather Days<\/strong> from Sunday through Tuesday<\/strong> next week.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Today\u2019s high in the Phoenix Valley<\/strong> reached 103\u00b0F (39\u00b0C)<\/strong> \u2014 slightly below seasonal norms \u2014 but this short-lived relief won\u2019t last. From Sunday, temperatures will surge<\/strong> well above average, with forecast highs climbing toward a blistering 110\u00b0F to 115\u00b0F (43\u00b0C to 46\u00b0C)<\/strong>. The hottest day is expected to be Monday<\/strong>, which may challenge the record of 115\u00b0F (46\u00b0C)<\/strong> set back in 2013<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The National Weather Service<\/strong> has already issued an Extreme Heat Watch<\/strong> beginning Sunday morning<\/strong> through Tuesday evening<\/strong>, and this will likely be upgraded to a Heat Warning<\/strong> as forecast confidence increases. This is allowing only a slight chance<\/strong> for dry, high-based thunderstorms<\/strong>, primarily in the higher elevations<\/strong>. But change may be on the horizon.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n With high pressure expected to shift<\/strong> early next week, a better inflow of tropical moisture<\/strong> could finally start feeding into Arizona<\/strong>.
