The <strong>NWS<\/strong> issued <strong>heat advisories<\/strong> across the region on <strong>Tuesday<\/strong> and <strong>Wednesday<\/strong>, warning of <strong>dangerously high temperatures<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>As <strong>June winds down<\/strong>, <strong>storms and rain<\/strong> are bringing <strong>some short-term relief<\/strong>, but <strong>meteorological projections<\/strong> for <strong>July, August and early September<\/strong> indicate a <strong>return to extreme warmth<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Forecast from the National Weather Service: hot and wetter than usual<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The <strong>NWS Climate Prediction Center<\/strong> assigns a <strong>40% to 50% probability<\/strong> of <strong>above-average temperatures<\/strong> across <strong>South Carolina<\/strong> during <strong>July<\/strong>, <strong>August<\/strong>, and <strong>September<\/strong>.
