Severe thunderstorm warning in effect for Central Ohio<\/strong><\/p>\n

A severe thunderstorm warning<\/strong> remains active across parts of Central Ohio<\/strong> this Thursday, June 26<\/strong>, with the National Weather Service in Wilmington<\/strong> issuing the alert at 2:38 p.m. local time<\/strong>. The advisory is expected to last until 3:30 p.m.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The warning specifically covers southeastern Franklin County<\/strong>, northwestern Fairfield County<\/strong>, north central Pickaway County<\/strong>, and southwestern Licking County<\/strong>. Earlier this afternoon, at 2:22 p.m.<\/strong>, a severe storm<\/strong> was reported over South Bloomfield<\/strong>, traveling northeast at 15 mph<\/strong>. By 2:38 p.m.<\/strong>, the system was observed near Groveport<\/strong>, shifting eastward at the same speed.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Meteorologists warn the storm is capable of producing damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph<\/strong> and hail the size of pennies<\/strong>. The combination of strong winds<\/strong> and hail<\/strong> could cause significant damage to trees and power lines<\/strong> across the affected areas.<\/p>\n
