According to AccuWeather meteorologists<\/strong>, a humid, summerlike air mass<\/strong> over the Midwest<\/strong> and Mid-Atlantic<\/strong> will collide<\/strong> with a cooler air front<\/strong>, triggering dangerous weather conditions<\/strong> from the central Plains<\/strong> to the East Coast<\/strong>.<\/p>\n By Sunday<\/strong>, strong thunderstorms<\/strong> had already hit parts of the central Plains<\/strong> and the Midwest<\/strong>, especially areas like Kansas<\/strong>, Iowa<\/strong>, and Illinois<\/strong>, bringing large hail<\/strong> and intense wind gusts<\/strong>. The cold front<\/strong> responsible for this activity is forecast to shift southeast<\/strong> through early Monday<\/strong>, dragging the severe threat<\/strong> into new regions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Monday\u2019s severe weather<\/strong> will impact two distinct areas<\/strong>. The first<\/strong> zone stretches from central Missouri<\/strong> through western Virginia<\/strong> and into central Pennsylvania<\/strong>, as the frontal system<\/strong> pushes east. Expect flooding downpours<\/strong>, hail<\/strong>, and localized wind gusts<\/strong> topping 70 mph (113 km\/h)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The second area<\/strong> of concern sits farther west, from New Mexico<\/strong> and southern Colorado<\/strong> across Oklahoma<\/strong> and into northern Texas<\/strong>. In particular, counties along the Red River<\/strong>, including parts of southern Oklahoma<\/strong> and north Texas<\/strong>, may face a concentrated outbreak of severe thunderstorms<\/strong>. These storms are expected to hit Monday afternoon into the night<\/strong>, with threats including torrential rain<\/strong>, hail<\/strong>, and potential flash floods<\/strong>.<\/p>\n By Tuesday<\/strong>, the threat expands significantly, with thunderstorms forecast across at least a dozen states<\/strong> from the Carolinas<\/strong> to New England<\/strong>.
