Despite its deterioration, the <strong>lingering tropical moisture<\/strong> has drifted into <strong>South Texas<\/strong>, bringing <strong>increased cloud cover<\/strong> and <strong>scattered rainfall<\/strong>, especially to <strong>western areas of the state<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Though the system no longer resembles a tropical storm, <strong>residual humidity<\/strong> is expected to generate <strong>isolated showers<\/strong> throughout the region during the day. Here&#8217;s what the forecast looks like.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wednesday weather outlook: mild temps, limited rain<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Morning conditions<\/strong> will begin similarly to recent days, with <strong>temperatures in the mid-70s \u00b0F (24 \u00b0C)<\/strong> under <strong>mostly cloudy skies<\/strong>. Rain chances remain <strong>low during the morning<\/strong>, but <strong>persistent cloud cover<\/strong> will keep temperatures from climbing quickly. By around <strong>10 a.m.<\/strong>, <strong>San Antonio<\/strong> is expected to reach <strong>80 \u00b0F (27 \u00b0C)<\/strong> and gradually rise to the <strong>mid-80s \u00b0F (29 \u00b0C)<\/strong> by midday.<\/p>\n<p>Afternoon <strong>highs<\/strong> will remain <strong>below the seasonal norm<\/strong>, likely topping out in the <strong>upper 80s \u00b0F (31 \u00b0C)<\/strong> by <strong>4 p.m.<\/strong>\u2014several degrees under the <strong>average July 2 high of 94 \u00b0F (34 \u00b0C)<\/strong> for <strong>San Antonio<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>As <strong>tropical moisture pushes north from Mexico<\/strong>, <strong>scattered thunderstorms<\/strong> and <strong>showers<\/strong> are forecast to develop between <strong>1 and 7 p.m.<\/strong>, mainly over <strong>Bexar County<\/strong> and surrounding areas. However, <strong>overall rain coverage<\/strong> will be <strong>limited to about 30%<\/strong>, so <strong>most neighborhoods<\/strong> will likely stay dry.<\/p>\n<p>Where rain does fall, <strong>totals will be light<\/strong>, generally <strong>under 0.1 inch<\/strong>, though <strong>isolated pockets<\/strong> could see up to <strong>0.25 inch<\/strong>, especially closer to the <strong>Rio Grande<\/strong>, from <strong>Laredo<\/strong> to <strong>Del Rio<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thursday outlook: drying trend begins<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Rain chances on <strong>Thursday<\/strong> will <strong>decrease slightly<\/strong>, with only <strong>20% or less<\/strong> of the region expected to see brief, <strong>isolated showers<\/strong>. Skies should stay <strong>partly to mostly cloudy<\/strong>, and <strong>highs will near 90 \u00b0F (32 \u00b0C)<\/strong> across <strong>South Texas<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fourth of July: sunshine and seasonal warmth<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For <strong>Independence Day celebrations<\/strong> across <strong>South Texas<\/strong>, the weather will be <strong>ideal<\/strong>. <strong>Rain chances drop to near zero<\/strong>, and <strong>daytime highs<\/strong> will remain <strong>slightly below average<\/strong>, climbing into the <strong>low 90s \u00b0F (33 \u00b0C)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Despite comfortable temperatures, <strong>humidity<\/strong> will remain <strong>elevated<\/strong>, pushing <strong>heat index values<\/strong> close to <strong>100 \u00b0F (38 \u00b0C)<\/strong> in the afternoon and early evening. As the <strong>fireworks begin<\/strong>, expect <strong>temperatures to dip into the mid-80s \u00b0F (29 \u00b0C)<\/strong>, cooling to the <strong>low 80s \u00b0F (27 \u00b0C)<\/strong> by <strong>10 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Warming trend this weekend and beyond<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A <strong>ridge of high pressure<\/strong> will begin building by the <strong>weekend<\/strong>, leading to a <strong>noticeable warm-up<\/strong>.
