RICHMOND, Virginia<\/strong> \u2013 Saturday<\/strong> is shaping up to be a bright and pleasant day<\/strong> across Central Virginia<\/strong>, with sunny skies<\/strong>, low humidity<\/strong>, and temperatures climbing to around 90\u00b0F (32\u00b0C)<\/strong>. If you’re planning to spend time outdoors, especially after the Fourth of July celebrations<\/strong>, this will likely be the best day of the weekend<\/strong> to do so.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Sunday<\/strong>, however, will bring a notable shift in the weather<\/strong>. The day will begin with sunshine<\/strong>, but clouds will increase gradually<\/strong> during the afternoon. Conditions will become muggy<\/strong>, with highs reaching the upper 80s to low 90s (31\u201333\u00b0C)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n A tropical system<\/strong> \u2013 currently identified as Tropical Depression Three<\/strong>, located off the Florida\u2013Georgia coast<\/strong> \u2013 is forecast to move northward<\/strong>, bringing scattered showers<\/strong> into Virginia<\/strong> by late Sunday<\/strong>. These rain bands will start pushing in from the south<\/strong> and will be linked to the outer circulation<\/strong> of this developing tropical system<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n As the system continues its northward track<\/strong>, it is expected to intensify into Tropical Storm Chantal<\/strong> by the end of the weekend, with a likely landfall near Charleston, South Carolina<\/strong> on Saturday night<\/strong>. It will then begin to weaken<\/strong> as it crosses into southern North Carolina<\/strong> by Sunday night into Monday morning<\/strong>. Despite the weakening, the system will continue to bring showers and pockets of heavier rainfall<\/strong> to areas along the Mid-Atlantic coast<\/strong>, including Richmond<\/strong>, Wilmington<\/strong>, and parts of the Outer Banks<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Looking ahead, early next week<\/strong> will stay hot and humid<\/strong>, with highs again in the upper 80s and low 90s (31\u201333\u00b0C)<\/strong>.
