This early sign of <strong>rotation<\/strong> could mark the start of a more developed system over the next few days.<\/p>\n<p>At the moment, the <strong>National Hurricane Center<\/strong> gives <strong>Invest 92L<\/strong> a <strong>70% chance of tropical development<\/strong> over the next seven days\u2014an estimate that suggests we may see this disturbance evolve into at least a <strong>weak tropical storm<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Impacts for Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>According to the <strong>latest model guidance<\/strong>, the <strong>strongest winds and heaviest rains<\/strong> are likely to target coastal areas of the <strong>Carolinas<\/strong>, particularly <strong>South Carolina<\/strong> and <strong>North Carolina<\/strong>. Rain is also expected to be <strong>more scattered<\/strong>, which may allow some areas to <strong>squeeze in Fourth of July fireworks<\/strong> between showers.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><strong>What\u2019s next: eyes on further development<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>If the system continues to <strong>consolidate through Friday morning<\/strong>, <strong>Hurricane Hunters<\/strong> are expected to fly into the disturbance later today to gather real-time data. Ironically, a more <strong>defined tropical system<\/strong> may mean <strong>less widespread rain<\/strong> across the Southeast, as the system\u2019s <strong>energy and organization<\/strong> become more concentrated near its center, limiting instability in surrounding regions like <strong>Florida<\/strong>, <strong>Georgia<\/strong>, and the <strong>Carolinas<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Expect <strong>spiral rainbands<\/strong>\u2014typical of developing tropical storms\u2014to emerge by Friday afternoon and evening, especially over <strong>northern counties of Central Florida<\/strong> like <strong>Volusia<\/strong> and <strong>Flagler<\/strong>, where <strong>daytime heating<\/strong> could help fire off thunderstorms in waves.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><strong>Weekend outlook: unsettled but not a washout<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>As <strong>Invest 92L<\/strong> tracks north through the weekend, <strong>Saturday<\/strong> and <strong>Sunday<\/strong> should bring more typical <strong>sea breeze-driven showers and storms<\/strong>, with <strong>clusters of convection<\/strong> developing in the afternoon and early evening rather than persistent all-day rain.<\/p>\n<p>For those near the <strong>Atlantic coastline<\/strong>, be cautious of <strong>rough surf<\/strong> and <strong>rip currents<\/strong>, especially if this low begins to <strong>strengthen into a named storm<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The next name on the Atlantic list is <strong>Chantal<\/strong>.
