Quiet but hot weekend across southern Arizona<\/strong><\/h3>\n

This weekend, conditions remain mostly dry and stable<\/strong>, according to the NWS office in Phoenix<\/strong>. Rain chances<\/strong> are limited to the far southern parts of the state<\/strong>, while Saturday\u2019s high reached 107\u00b0F (41.6\u00b0C)<\/strong> in Phoenix<\/strong>, which is typical for early July<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Sunday marks the start of the heat surge<\/strong><\/h3>\n

On Sunday, July 6<\/strong>, NWS forecasters expect a notable rise in temperatures<\/strong>, with a projected high of 111\u00b0F (43.8\u00b0C)<\/strong> for Phoenix<\/strong>, already climbing above seasonal norms.<\/p>\n

Intensifying heat wave expected next week<\/strong><\/h3>\n

A strong ridge of high pressure<\/strong> is expected to build over the region, leading to a steady increase in temperatures<\/strong> through the coming days. On Monday, July 7<\/strong>, the Phoenix area<\/strong> is forecast to hit 112\u00b0F (44.4\u00b0C)<\/strong>, and by Wednesday, July 9<\/strong>, desert regions could see highs reaching 115\u00b0F (46.1\u00b0C)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Extreme Heat Watch in effect from Tuesday<\/strong><\/h3>\n
