Severe hailstorm hits Colorado on Sunday with egg-sized chunks<\/strong><\/p>\n Sunday, July 7<\/strong>, brought intense and violent weather<\/strong> across Colorado<\/strong>, with hailstones as large as eggs<\/strong> and even a confirmed tornado<\/strong> in Morgan County<\/strong>, just 13 miles east of Fort Morgan<\/strong>. Other commonly reported sizes included 1.25 inches (3.17 cm)<\/strong>, the size of a half dollar<\/strong>, 1.5 inches (3.81 cm)<\/strong>, like a ping pong ball<\/strong>, and 1.75 inches (4.45 cm)<\/strong>, equivalent to a golf ball<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The most impacted areas on Sunday<\/strong><\/p>\n The strongest hailstorm activity<\/strong> was concentrated in El Paso County<\/strong>, where multiple locations reported hailstones over 1.5 inches<\/strong>. Colorado Springs<\/strong>, Black Forest<\/strong>, and Falcon<\/strong> were among the most heavily affected. Specifically, 2 miles southwest of Colorado Springs<\/strong>, hail reached 2 inches (5.08 cm)<\/strong>.
