High alert issued for Carolina Beach due to shark sightings and dangerous rip currents<\/strong><\/p>\n CAROLINA BEACH, North Carolina (Tuesday, July 9, 2025 \u2014 9:00 a.m. ET)<\/strong> \u2014 The National Weather Service<\/strong> has released a coastal hazard statement<\/strong> following multiple shark sightings<\/strong> in the waters off Carolina Beach<\/strong>, reported by Carolina Beach Ocean Rescue<\/strong> on Monday afternoon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The alert highlights a notable increase in shark activity<\/strong> just offshore. Swimmers, surfers, and beachgoers<\/strong> in the area are being strongly advised to remain cautious<\/strong> as conditions are not only affected by marine wildlife, but also by highly dangerous rip currents<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n According to the NWS<\/strong>, strong rip currents<\/strong> are forecasted and will continue to pose a threat through 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 7<\/strong>.
