SIOUX CITY, Iowa<\/strong> \u2013 First Alert Weather Days<\/strong> are in effect for Thursday and Friday<\/strong> across Siouxland<\/strong>, with strong to severe storms and the potential for flash flooding expected to impact much of the region.<\/p>\n We kicked off the day with a quick-moving line of thunderstorms that passed through the region early this morning. Conditions have since quieted down, but we\u2019re keeping an eye on the potential for new storm development later this afternoon, especially across western Siouxland<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Temperatures will once again climb into the upper 80s to low 90s<\/strong>, with southeast winds<\/strong> ranging between 15 and 25 miles per hour<\/strong>. While most of the afternoon looks quiet, the weather is expected to turn much more active as we head into the evening hours.<\/p>\n The Storm Prediction Center<\/strong> has placed much of Siouxland<\/strong> under an Enhanced Risk (Level 3 out of 5)<\/strong> for severe weather<\/strong> from 5 p.m. to midnight<\/strong>. Forecasters are warning of the potential for wind gusts up to 70 mph<\/strong>, golf ball-sized hail<\/strong>, and even an isolated tornado<\/strong>. Alongside these severe threats, heavy downpours<\/strong> are expected, with some areas potentially picking up 2 to 3 inches of rain<\/strong> in just a few hours.<\/p>\n A Flood Watch<\/strong> remains in effect for parts of the region through 7 a.m. Friday<\/strong>, with street and urban flooding<\/strong> a growing concern.<\/p>\n As we move into the evening and overnight hours, the risk of strong to severe thunderstorms<\/strong> remains. The most active period is expected during the early nighttime, though scattered storms may persist into the overnight.<\/p>\n Low temperatures will fall into the mid to upper 60s<\/strong>, with southwest winds<\/strong> continuing at 15 to 25 mph<\/strong>. Gusts could become stronger in and around any storm cells.<\/p>\n Friday may start off calm, but don\u2019t let your guard down. Highs will be in the 80s<\/strong>, and while the first half of the day looks relatively quiet, conditions are expected to shift again by the afternoon and evening<\/strong>.<\/p>\n As of Thursday morning, the Storm Prediction Center<\/strong> has issued a Marginal Risk<\/strong> for severe weather across the region, with threats including gusty winds<\/strong>, large hail<\/strong>, and heavy rainfall<\/strong>. On top of that, most of Siouxland<\/strong> is under a Slight Risk for Excessive Rainfall<\/strong>, which could mean renewed flooding issues<\/strong>, especially in low-lying or poorly drained areas<\/strong>.<\/p>\n After a stormy end to the week, Saturday<\/strong> is shaping up to be a standout. Forecasts call for lower humidity<\/strong> and highs in the low to mid-80s<\/strong>, offering a refreshing break from the active weather pattern.<\/p>\n But the relief will be short-lived.
