According to the latest three-month temperature and precipitation outlook from The Weather Company<\/strong> and Atmospheric G2<\/strong>, summer’s grip isn\u2019t loosening anytime soon<\/strong>, especially across the Northern Rockies<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n A hotter-than-normal stretch for the Northern Rockies<\/strong><\/p>\n From August through October<\/strong>, much of Montana<\/strong> is expected to experience above-average temperatures<\/strong>, with parts of the state likely to face a particularly intense late-summer heat<\/strong>. The region around the Northern Rockies<\/strong> is shaping up to be one of the country’s warmest zones during this transitional period, as daytime highs regularly climb into the upper 80s and 90s \u00b0F (31\u201335 \u00b0C)<\/strong> well into September<\/strong>, and possibly even beyond.<\/p>\n This isn\u2019t just typical August warmth sticking around \u2014 it\u2019s a notable extension<\/strong> of summer heat that will keep fall weather at bay<\/strong>. High pressure ridging over the region is likely to suppress cold fronts and delay the arrival of consistently cooler air. While temperatures will eventually begin to cool off by late October, they\u2019re expected to remain well above seasonal norms<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Dry weather adds to the late-season summer pattern<\/strong><\/p>\n Alongside the heat, dry conditions<\/strong> are also in the forecast. Montana<\/strong> is projected to receive below-average precipitation<\/strong> over the next three months.
