CLEVELAND (WJW)<\/strong> \u2014 Sunday<\/strong> brought another classic midsummer day to Northeast Ohio<\/strong>, with warm temperatures and plenty of humidity hanging in the air. Afternoon highs topped out in the low to mid 80s\u00b0F (28\u201330\u00b0C), making it feel even stickier than it looked.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n A few scattered downpours or thunderstorms<\/strong> could bubble up late this Sunday evening<\/strong> as a slow-moving cold front<\/strong> edges closer to the region. That said, rainfall looks hit-or-miss<\/strong>, so many communities will probably remain dry as the sun goes down.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Expect the evening to stay very warm<\/strong>, with temps gradually easing through the 80s\u00b0F (27\u201330\u00b0C). Overnight, it\u2019ll stay muggy, with lows only dipping to around 70\u00b0F (21\u00b0C)<\/strong>. Another brief round of showers could move through late tonight into early Monday morning<\/strong>, especially across western counties.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n That cold front<\/strong> arriving tonight won\u2019t be in a hurry to leave. Because of its sluggish pace, Monday\u2019s rain chances are higher<\/strong>, particularly during the morning hours<\/strong>. Expect showers to sweep west to east<\/strong> before tapering off into the early afternoon<\/strong>, as drier air begins to sneak in from the north.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n By Monday afternoon<\/strong>, skies should brighten, and while it\u2019ll still feel warm, humidity levels may dip slightly<\/strong> as the front drifts southeast. Highs will once again land in the low to mid 80s\u00b0F (28\u201330\u00b0C)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n But the relief will be short-lived<\/strong>. Heat and humidity will come roaring back by Tuesday<\/strong>, setting the stage for the hottest stretch of the week<\/strong>. Tuesday and Wednesday<\/strong> could see highs near 90\u00b0F (32\u00b0C)<\/strong>, with the steamy air sparking a few pop-up storms<\/strong>, particularly late Wednesday.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The best chance for more widespread rain and storms arrives Thursday<\/strong>, as another cold front approaches<\/strong>.
