A broad area of low pressure just offshore is starting to get some attention \u2014 and it now has a name: Invest 93L<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The system, sitting just off the East Coast of Florida<\/strong>, has been designated an \u201cinvest\u201d by the National Hurricane Center<\/strong>, meaning it\u2019s now under close watch for potential tropical development. That title also opens the door for Hurricane Hunter aircraft<\/strong> to fly into the system and gather critical data for forecasting models.<\/p>\n As of Monday afternoon, 93L<\/strong> is trying to tap into the warm waters of the western Atlantic<\/strong>, though it hasn\u2019t yet reached the Gulf Stream<\/strong> \u2014 a key ingredient that could help it organize more rapidly.
