Despite a generally stormy pattern<\/strong>, the majority of the next week looks to remain dry<\/strong>, as clusters of storms<\/strong> pass through every few days.<\/p>\n A strong round of thunderstorms<\/strong> is projected to move into Lower Michigan<\/strong> starting in the late afternoon<\/strong> and continuing through the evening hours<\/strong>. The Storm Prediction Center<\/strong> has issued a level 2 risk<\/strong> for severe weather<\/strong>, with the primary threat being damaging wind gusts<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Areas at higher risk include Manistee<\/strong>, Ludington<\/strong>, Pentwater<\/strong>, Muskegon<\/strong>, Grand Rapids<\/strong>, Holland<\/strong>, Benton Harbor<\/strong>, St. Joseph<\/strong>, and possibly Kalamazoo<\/strong>. Forecast models from the Climate Prediction Center<\/strong> indicate a strong likelihood<\/strong> of above-average temperatures<\/strong> throughout the region.<\/p>\n We are now firmly within the core of Michigan\u2019s severe weather season<\/strong>, where short-lived but powerful storms<\/strong> are typical. These storms tend to develop and move quickly, often lasting just 30 minutes to 2 hours<\/strong> in any given location.
