New York City<\/strong> is once again under a heat advisory<\/strong> this Wednesday<\/strong> and Thursday<\/strong>, as intense humidity<\/strong> and soaring temperatures create a dangerously hot environment<\/strong> across the tri-state area<\/strong>. The heat index<\/strong>\u2014what it actually feels like outside\u2014could surpass 100\u00b0F (38\u00b0C)<\/strong>, making this one of the hottest stretches<\/strong> so far this July<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Air quality<\/strong> is another growing concern, especially for vulnerable populations<\/strong> including children, seniors, and those with respiratory conditions. The combination of heat<\/strong>, humidity<\/strong>, and poor air quality<\/strong> is creating an oppressive setup over New York<\/strong>, New Jersey<\/strong>, and Connecticut<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The unstable atmosphere<\/strong> continues to fuel the risk of pop-up thunderstorms<\/strong>, particularly on Wednesday<\/strong>, with strong wind gusts<\/strong> and heavy rainfall<\/strong> expected where storms do form.
