The latest readings show a significant increase<\/strong> caused by persistent heavy rainfall<\/strong> across eastern Kansas<\/strong>, west-central Missouri<\/strong>, and northwest Missouri<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n MLDDA<\/strong> reports that several tributaries<\/strong> are reacting swiftly to this precipitation, with flash flooding<\/strong> already a serious concern throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area<\/strong>. Multiple flash flood warnings<\/strong> were issued Thursday morning<\/strong>, adding urgency to the evolving flood situation.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Downstream locations<\/strong> \u2014 including Napoleon<\/strong>, Waverly<\/strong>, and Miami<\/strong> \u2014 are expected to experience major river rises<\/strong>, with forecasts from the National Weather Service (NWS)<\/strong> indicating the Missouri River<\/strong> could reach a crest of 19.6 feet<\/strong> (5.97 meters) by Friday evening<\/strong>, well above the flood stage of 18 feet<\/strong> (5.49 meters).
