Saturday<\/strong> brings the return of humid air<\/strong> and a renewed risk of thunderstorms<\/strong> across Metro Detroit<\/strong>, just as a cold front<\/strong> pushes into Southeast Michigan<\/strong>. After a calm and sunny Friday<\/strong>, conditions shift dramatically this weekend, with the Storm Prediction Center<\/strong> placing the entire region<\/strong> under a Slight Risk<\/strong> (2 out of 5) for severe weather<\/strong> on Saturday<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Much of Saturday<\/strong> will stay dry<\/strong> with partly cloudy skies<\/strong>, but as we move into the late afternoon and evening<\/strong>, scattered thunderstorms<\/strong> will begin to develop. These storms, fueled by warm air<\/strong> surging to highs near 85\u00b0F (29\u00b0C)<\/strong>, could become strong to severe<\/strong>, especially between 4 PM and midnight<\/strong>. The most significant threats<\/strong> will be damaging winds<\/strong>, torrential downpours<\/strong>, and possibly hail<\/strong>. There’s even a small chance for an isolated tornado<\/strong> as the cold front<\/strong> moves in.<\/p>\n Storm activity is expected to diminish after midnight<\/strong>, with decreasing cloud cover<\/strong> overnight. Lows will settle around 67\u00b0F (19\u00b0C)<\/strong>, giving way to drier air<\/strong> and more comfortable conditions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n By Sunday morning<\/strong>, high pressure<\/strong> builds back into the region, clearing out lingering moisture. Expect a mix of sun and clouds<\/strong> and much more stable weather, with highs around 82\u00b0F (28\u00b0C)<\/strong>. The air will feel less humid<\/strong>, making for a pleasant end to the weekend<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Monday<\/strong> continues the trend with mostly sunny skies<\/strong> and highs reaching 81\u00b0F (27\u00b0C)<\/strong>. Humidity stays low<\/strong>, and the air feels refreshingly normal<\/strong> for late July<\/strong> in Michigan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n By Tuesday<\/strong>, sunshine dominates<\/strong>, and temperatures climb to around 86\u00b0F (30\u00b0C)<\/strong>. But it’s Wednesday<\/strong> when the real heat surge<\/strong> begins. With an upper-level ridge of high pressure<\/strong> settling to the south<\/strong>, hot and humid air<\/strong> will be pushed into Metro Detroit<\/strong>, and highs will soar into the lower 90s\u00b0F (32\u201334\u00b0C)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n From Thursday into Friday<\/strong>, heat and humidity<\/strong> intensify, with heat index values<\/strong> possibly reaching the upper 90s to low 100s\u00b0F (37\u201339\u00b0C)<\/strong>. At the same time, the region will be in a favorable position<\/strong> for more thunderstorms<\/strong>, due to its location on the northern edge<\/strong> of the high-pressure dome.
