RICHMOND, Virginia<\/strong> \u2014 As of this Saturday, July 19<\/strong>, a severe thunderstorm warning<\/strong> is now in effect for parts of Central Virginia<\/strong>, while a thunderstorm watch<\/strong> covers a broader area through tonight.<\/p>\n The National Weather Service<\/strong> has officially issued a severe thunderstorm warning<\/strong> through 4:15 p.m.<\/strong> for Buckingham County<\/strong>, Fluvanna County<\/strong>, and the City of Charlottesville<\/strong>. This warning indicates that dangerous storms<\/strong> are either currently impacting or developing near these zones.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n At the same time, a severe thunderstorm watch<\/strong> is active across a wide stretch of Central Virginia<\/strong> and will remain in place until 10:00 p.m.<\/strong> This includes the following areas: Albemarle<\/strong>, Amelia<\/strong>, Brunswick<\/strong>, Caroline<\/strong>, Charles City<\/strong>, Chesterfield<\/strong>, Cumberland<\/strong>, Dinwiddie<\/strong>, Essex<\/strong>, Greene<\/strong>, Greensville<\/strong>, Goochland<\/strong>, Hanover<\/strong>, Henrico<\/strong>, King and Queen<\/strong>, King William<\/strong>, Louisa<\/strong>, Lunenburg<\/strong>, Mecklenburg<\/strong>, Middlesex<\/strong>, New Kent<\/strong>, Northumberland<\/strong>, Nottoway<\/strong>, Orange<\/strong>, Powhatan<\/strong>, Prince George<\/strong>, Prince Edward<\/strong>, Richmond County<\/strong>, and Sussex County<\/strong>, along with the cities of Charlottesville<\/strong>, Emporia<\/strong>, Hopewell<\/strong>, and Richmond<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n According to the NWS<\/strong>, these storms are capable of producing strong wind gusts<\/strong>, damaging hail<\/strong>, and possibly isolated flooding<\/strong>.
