If you’re traveling or outdoors in West Texas<\/strong> tonight, be mindful of rapid weather changes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Southeastern Texas and Gulf Coast: Tropical Disturbance Rolls In<\/strong><\/p>\n Between Friday and Saturday<\/strong>, attention shifts to Southeast Texas<\/strong> and the Gulf Coast<\/strong>, where a weak tropical disturbance<\/strong> is expected to approach from the Gulf of Mexico<\/strong>. Although no tropical cyclone development<\/strong> is anticipated at this time, the system will flood the region<\/strong> with tropical moisture<\/strong>, triggering widespread shower<\/strong> and thunderstorm activity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n From Galveston<\/strong> and Houston<\/strong>, down the Middle Texas Coast<\/strong> into South Texas<\/strong>, residents should expect scattered to numerous rain showers<\/strong>, especially during the daytime hours<\/strong>. The heaviest rainfall<\/strong> will likely concentrate along and just inland<\/strong> from the coastline<\/strong>, with isolated totals<\/strong> reaching 1 to 2 inches (25 to 50 mm)<\/strong>. Urban areas<\/strong> and low-lying zones<\/strong> may see brief street flooding<\/strong>, particularly during the strongest bursts<\/strong> of rain.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Across the Rest of Texas: Heat Holds Strong<\/strong><\/p>\n In regions not influenced<\/strong> by the tropical system or evening storms, summer swelter<\/strong> remains firmly in place.
